Talk to me,

I'm loathe to buy an off the shelf conversion as invariably I'll only want to change everything as I usually do....

What commonly available chargers have been used or are suitable???

Kind of exploring options for a possible winter project :-)

Pics would be good for a bit of inspiration.

Cheers

A few have done the M45 from old Minis and Mercs. They are a more 'traditional' charger VS the Rotrex type.

I was looking into this aswel. Will follow with interest.

Depends on your budget and spanner skills, I decided on the lynx low boost kit with a rotrex, easy enough conversion and great performance, mine is mainly a track car so the top end power is perfect, I know some of the other guys on here feel a rotrex conversion lacks torque compared to other chargers, down to personal choice really.

Ive fitted a M45 from a Merc to my 306. Not as efficient as the Rotrex but i don't care when you have that noise

Thats what Allen is running i believe?

I was speaking about this last night though with another Eaton 205 owner and it seems the M45 from the CLK (which is actually a M62 in Merc's eyes just to confuse things) is slightly more efficient than the Mini charger. Also much easier to find and make a bracket for

Oh and seeing as everyone is getting the videos out :D

The only m62 in a merc is the one with the big clutched pulley. Check m@tts build thread for pictures
