Insurance Renewal

Recommended Posts

Adrian flux cancelled my policy after 11 months , they said I had not been paying my direct debit . Even thou they had every payment on time. I lost my no claims for no fault of my own. I'm going back a few years so I'd hoped they have improved with so many 205 enthusiasts using them, although I have never been back since then.

You'll probably find the biggest companies will give you the best quotes, it's only logical.

Renewal through yesterday - £184 fully comp for modified 1.9 road car - direct line, best I've experienced in 29 years of motoring... your all bound to have similar stories but just for information, I know of a young lad in Aberdeen currently paying 4.5k per year to insur his beloved STi, what's more he's actually okay with that

When did Direct Line start covering modified cars? What do you mean by modified?

A bit alarmed at the tales about Flux, so far they're the only company I've found who are aware of let alone insure my jap import so I'm kind of stuck with them, makes sense to have all three cars on the one policy. If anyone knows any good alternatives for rare jap imports I might have a shop around.

SS exhaust system, air filter and CAT alarm/immobiliser... hardly "modified" but thought it's better to be upfront as much as possible... do we discuss bigger brakes, differentials drives, advanced oils, re-routing brake pipes/fuel lines, seats, anything that makes the car acutally safer than OE? then ask the question, are any of us truly 100% insured? personally that's never bothered me from anything other than a road legal point of view... 90% of accidents are not accidents, they are driver error, alot of that in the UK (95% of us are s*it drivers, let's be perfectly honest and have no illusions about that) a quick trip down the autobahn only proves that.

Impeccable lane dicipline... can you imagine this in the UK? nope, didn't think so! our roads are inhabitated by utter morons/retards.

If I write my motor off then I'll take the consuquences of that, first thing is safety, ALWAYS, not how much I'll get for my motor!!! insurance is a rip-off, plain and simple, it could so easily be handled and regulated better, people should be held accountable for RTA's, not insured, totally retarded situation. We all see it every day, shaving, lipstick/make-up application, phones, eating, and more, you really think that is insurable? but this is what insurance has caused, it's indirectly responsible for the retards on our roads today. The best drivers on the road are those with no insurance, food for thought, eh?
