Nervous Times Ahead

Yes of course I did, how will the rings bed in on glazed liners

The rings won't bed in on glazed liners hence my question as you were quite vague about what you'd actually done.

If it starts and runs nice you've probably cracked it, bed the rings in, drop the oil and then give it death.

If anythings going to fail it will most probably do it fairly early on.

Ok here is what has been done

Engine out as it had a hole in the back of the block, so got a replacement block of miles(thanks) and got a new to me head as the old one was pitted real bad and a complete refurbed head came up cheap so i bought that.

New mains, big ends and rings and seals, built back up and cleaned everything in my paraffin tank.

new timing belt, tensioner and water pump,

the engine is now sitting in my shed awaiting to be put back

all i'm waiting for is new intermediate pipe and hoses, new oil filler pipe, new radiator and complete exhaust as the old one has split inside and spread out as they commonly do.

this all will be done, then after this inspect the gearbox, seemed ok before it was pulled out but always good to check
