Fuel Sender Seal

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the fuel sender seal is still available from pug?

My car stinks like a petrol station.

Cheers

Rich.

Fairly common now for the hoses from the pump to be perished so have a nosey at those if you haven't already

They accessed from under the car?

I know the sender seal is definitely gone as bits were hanging out. ..

There's no leak as of yet just a lot of vapours do think its just the sender.

Could be either or even a bit of both. Worth a check anyway. When you take the pump cap off you'll see the feed and return hoses. Then when looking underneath the car you'll see where they then join the steel lines.

Hoses look good.

Just realised the seal I found sticking out in bits is the inner one for the sender if that makes sense.

is that one avaliable and if so how do you seperate the inner and outer parts? Do I have to remove the whole sender first?

Mines exactly the same, no sign on broken seal but the car stinks after short drive, don't think the problem is engine end as I've lifted the bonnet and no petrol smell but inside the car it's quite bad! It's worse when I open the windows, like the air is circulating and bringing with it the petrol smell! I can't see any sign if wet petrol but sender and pump seals could be the culprit, I renewed the fuel lines not long ago!

I took mine apart and cleaned up the mangled seal then smothered it in hylomar.
