Brake Fluid Reservoir

Recommended Posts

Richard2005

afternoon.

I need a new brake fluid reservoir as the cap on mine is held on with a cable tie (!). I've looked and googled but can't find one. Does anyone know if alternate reservoirs fit?

Are there any other options here?

As I don't know when the fluid was last changed, was hoping to tick both off.

Thanks in advance,

Richard

I have one bottle and a cap in a bag lol.

Bottles are near impossible to get, caps a bit easier.

I tried for one of these a few months ago as they were still showing as available on service box (they still are 4635 50 & only ~ £6.50 new) but my local Pug dealer (who is usually very good getting parts) couldn't get me one.

I managed to clean an old one up very well so have used that where I'd have preferred a new one.

I only bought the car a couple of weeks back and had every intention of keeping it original/standard. If I can't source a used one is the only option a 306 brake upgrade with 306 master cylinder and reservoir? Seems an expensive solution to a £6.50 problem :)

Anyone want to sell me a spare standard reservoir and lid?

A 205 bottle fits on a 306 MC, so would think a 306 bottle would fit on a 205 MC.

Only thing is you might need to cut off the extra fixing tabs, and check the height, but from what I've seen I think you'd be ok.

Probably best to renew your MC bottle seals at the same time if its old..... If that's possible

I've got a spare bottle that's cleaned up quite nice after putting it in the ultrasonic bath. I don't need it now as a very helpful Scottish farmer located a new one for me!!! :)

Tim

You were lucky to get one as there is still a small queue of people still wanting a new one. :)

If I knew his part would of attracted demand would off bought a squad last year....

Makes me selling new ones for £15 sound cheap if that's the used market.

About 30 quid retail when sold.

Don't charge anymore than half that or the likes of Mei will get his panties in a twist.

sorry for the delay in responding.

So... Who has a bottle and cap they would like to sell me? Think it's the cap I need more than the bottle.
