Stdt Clocks Into Base Model Xud Conversion

Recommended Posts

randomcaller

Hi all, I've managed to get hold of some stdt clocks with the rev counter for the diesel. I intend to fit them to my base model diesel which I have put a 306 d turbo engine in.

Are there any potential pit falls I should look out for? I know I will need to buy a different top dash as I have the split dash on mine. I have a friend who wires race cars for a living so it should be a doddle for him.

Has this been done before? As long I can use the tachometer pickup that's already on the 306 block fingers crossed it should be fine.

Many thanks

Chris

I did this recently but had the loom as well.

If you have the loom its a like for like swap. Problem is with the basemodel clocks is that the plugs are a different shape and they won't match up with the stdt clocks

Ah so some splicing and changing of plugs will be needed. Think he's doing a 205 at his work at the moment and has some spare plugs from the old standard clocks that were in that. With regards to the rev counter did it work ok with the pickup from my flywheel on the xud block?

The Rev counter worked straight away on mine. The sensor was already present and plugged in on the old loom
