Stolen 205 Gti 1.6 From Edinburgh

Recommended Posts

AlexD

My graphite grey 205 was stolen last night from outside my house in Edinburgh. It is an F reg, 135k miles and has a new rear beam about a thousand miles ago, so should be v. shiny. It's been in the extended family since new and I've personally put quite a bit of time and effort into it recently, so I'm gutted. If anyone sees it or one for sale that sounds similar could you contact me please? pm me or email alex@zworg.com, cheers.

Im sorry to hear that mate. If it was stolen for parts it will be hard to get rid of them as theres not much comes up for sale up north. Ill keep my eyes peeled for you though as I'm sure others on here will too. You never know. It might turn up though. Good luck.

If there's 205's getting broken around here I normally hear about it, made me super paranoid tho, especially with mine getting the locks done in a few months back.

I'll keep my eyes peeled mate

Sorry to hear that - car crime pretty low in Edinburgh too. Hope you get it back.

Somebody is breaking a Graphite 1988 on a Facebook Peugeot group? It's in South Wales though...

Probably not it given the time and distance, but have you got a link for it?

THE CAR IS FOUND!!!! Condition unknown, the police just said it's been hotwired, thank you looking out for it and yeah, security is going to be upped significantly before it goes outside the house again.

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst, I imagine you're going to need some new interior plastics at the very least, get a wanted ad posted as soon as you know what you need and I'm sure you'll get a good response.

Good news that it's been found and hopefully it's not too badly damaged.

Do I assume that it didn't have any form of immobiliser fitted?

That is good to hear.

Out of interest, what security did it have? I've got an immobiliser fitted but expect it is easy to bypass. I also use an 80s krooklok which hooks around the pedals and steering wheel. I like it as it is a retro part, but expect it is quite ineffective!

Given how easy many are to bypass I wouldn't count on that Anthony, as I bet you know!

Dan's E-reg graphite breaker had nicely soldered in wires, however chopping into a bright orange wire 6 inches from the ignition switch, and joining back up to the same wire nearby, and the fuel pump wire 3 inches off the relay and back on behind the same trim panel, was REALLY tricky to trace and disable.

NOT... <_<
