Cooling Fan Loom Issues

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

So I've been scratching my head for ages on this.

The pic below is from the fan loom. But, there's a brown multi plug in it that I can't work out where it plugs into. It's got a red wire that's become detached from somewhere, no sign of where it used to be connected either. Haynes manual only lists the basic fan loom, and nothing on this multi plug....

Anyone any ideas?

The brown plug is for testing the fan at both speeds, as far as i know the red wire goes into the temp sensor plug aswell as the other 2.

I've been playing with my loom recently but my tester block does not exist any more.

Apparently this plug is there Dooley so you can short it and test the fan, bypassing the thermoswitch.

1 pin will be 12v positive, 1 pin will go to the cylindrical resistor for slow fan speed and one pin will go directly to the fan for high speed.

As I said mine want connected but it looks like it's been snipped off directly from the input to the thermoswitch plug. So if your other 2 wires go here then this third wire should go there too and you should find the snapped end.
