205 Gti 6 Starting Issue

hi folks.

 

intermittently over the last few weeks its not started when ignition turned to crank. turn off back on again and its started.

 

last night however it wont start at all. got 0.40 volts at starter solenoid when key in crank position and zero when off crank. wheres best place to start looking to cure this fault? ignotion switch or harness issue? thanks.

could be either, you need to investigate

Or the immoboliser if there's one fitted.

so, disconnect white plug from ignition barrell and it gives 12v on crank. plug it back in and turn to crank and wire 46 gets hot??

turned out to be a poor connection on the small brown plug next to heater matrix!
