Get my new car delivered tomorrow, will try and get some better pictures taken when it arrives, needs a fair bit of work but generally in good condition.

Be aware I may be asking some stupid questions as i've never done anything like this before and have a limited amount of mechanical knowledge.... lol :D

If this was a Phase 2, I'd be sweating if it was me. But I reckon you've got a cracking motor for that price.

Along with a good jet wash! The immobiliser shouldn't take long to remove it looks like some of the dash is out anyway, I've got quite abit of grey dash pieces if you need any.

I don't think that looks like a bad buy at all. Give it a good scrub and a machine polish and you'll feel around a billion times happier about it.

Get it running, take it for a blast and see how it feels. If it feels okay, give it a once over and bang it through an MOT. Once you get it to pass-worthy condition you can mess about with other stuff :)

yeah, i'll post some pics tomorrow before i give it a good clean, it does need an ignition and new steering lock, the bloke said it'll take about an hour to remove the immobiliser but not to fussed at the moment, just wanna get it stripped down and cleaned.

Which bring me on to my 1st question: I'm gonna remove the brakes and suspension because i want to give inside the wheelarches a rub down and paint, what's the best way to clean it and can anyone recommend a decent paint???? (i've heard putting viniger in hot water works a treat)

Have a look on some of the detailing sites like detailing world for some advice and examples of what can be done with the right products. Some on there are a bit ocd but it's worth a look at some of the bigger clean up projects like yours!

You will need a cheap APC, All Purpose Cleaner. Tesco do one called Daisy is about 30p.

Spray liberally under the arches and let it soak in. Then with a wheel brush and with hot water car shampoo agitate it and rinse.

Repeat above if required.

good luck with this one, cant wait to see the project and will follow. I expect it will look brand new once it has had a good clean, the worst looking ones always do.
