Holes In The Floorpan - Should They Be There?

Recommended Posts

Stu

Hi all,

I've got a series of holes on the passenger side floor pan running front to back that look like they would hold the brakeline/fuel line clips on a LHD car; should they be plugged with anything or are they just left open?

There are other holes not used by the brake line clips on the passenger side of the car. These are normally filled with little rubber bung/studs. I think there are 4 or 5 of these. I'm currently looking for something to replace them with.

Yep, those are the ones. I'll see if i can find them on servicebox, failing that ill have to find a bung from something else i guess...

I noticed the same yesterday. I found a broken version of what had been in. You know the clips found on them where it is two parts, part one has two or three wings, and a pin is pushed in to spread them? Well they are a button type version.

I need some too if pug only want to sell you a million of them!

any joy with the plugs?

(I think they should be white plastic, pushed up from underneath, with a pin sent down from in the car to spread either two or three wings.)

I spent absolutely ages trying to source a replacement rubber bung from the internet. I tried all the usual plastics suppliers, and I came up with sweet FA.

In the end I simply gave up, taped and filled the holes and painted over them with the stone chip..

i had another look at mines, they are indeed rubber.

They look simnilar to Pt No. 698319 (although they are down as something to do with the clutch and something to do with the doors.)

hoody, i'm not sure. if the part has a dia of 13.5 then no, that part will be too big.

it looks like a 6 or 7mm hole on the floor iirc.

I used some of the clips that are used to hold the red trim onto the bumper.

Poked them through from the inside, and they seem to do the trick
