205 Flywheel

Recommended Posts

hi everyone, can anyone inform me of an 205 flywheel that incorporates a timing tooth ring, that can be used with an aftermarket ecu.

it is essential that this is from a 205 model and not from another peugeot model (306,406).

thanks for any answers.

I am not sure if there is any 205 flywheel you can get with a timing tooth ring. I have used a flywheel off a 1.8 16v out of a 306 or 406, 205 clutch fits too (some are bigger) . What have you against using one out of a 306,406?

the Motronic equipped 1.9 used a 60-2 flywheel with a 200mm gti clutch, its the same flywheel used on the 1.8 16v engine which is widely used in the mid to late 90's and early 2000'#s.

the 1.9 Mi16 used a 215mm variant, as did the XU10 engines, these will bolt on just fine as well, it is what I have used for the past 6 years on my 205 running MP3.1 from a ZX.

that flywheel is very easy to get hold of.

why does it have to be from a 205 specifically? that's just narrowing down the search unnecessarily when a part from another source will do the job just fine.

the reason ,750mc classic stock hatch,a couple of competitors are running emerald with coil packs, and 1 told me he is using a newer 205 version fly wheel with a cts,i knew about the mi,406,306 ,but was sceptical about a newer 205 version .

i bow to welshpug, and other forum members superior knowledge on these cars.

You can even get the TTV billet flywheels to use the 62-2 pick up, unless rules state is has to be std construction, The other way is a hall effect 16v Golf dizzy which works fine on these engines, I had it on mine and it made good figures back in the day.

One word of advice is not many competitors always give good advice, they can lead you up the path sometimes
