306 Gti6 Rear Shock Bushes, Same At Both Ends?

Recommended Posts

johnnyboy666

Hello,

I was wondering before I rip one apart, if anybody knows if the outer diameter of the rear shock bushes are the same at both ends? I know one end is 28mm, and would assume that they are both the same, but usually when I make assumptions I'm wrong!

Cheers!

No, different size bolts.

Tbh if they are ropey enough that the long lasting bushes are shot i would just replace the dampers.

Sorry i dont mean the bolt holes, I mean the outer diameter of the bush

The bushes are fine, I just want to use the shocks on a different car which has 16mm bolts both ends, so was going to swap the bushes out for ones with the right size hole

ahh, I see.

what are they going on?

Don't forget that they work at about 2.5/3-1 damper to wheel ratio so the specific damping rates are significantly higher, they're also quite short stroke.

They're going to be test fitted to my hijet pickup project, as the original shocks bottom out now ive lowered it. I'm not sure if they'll suit it yet, but shortstroke is what I need
