Can I Run A Standard 1.9 Gti Exhaust With A Gti6 Engine?

The 1.9 downpipe will need modifying to mate up to the gti6 manifold. But it will work fine, it won't restrict a standard gti6 engine at all

The exhaust can restrict the engine depending on type, you need at least a 2" system with them. But basically the D/P is shortened and a lambda boss added is using OE injection

I measured a spare DP i have, which is part of a 3-piece system.

 

It starts life at the manifold clamp at 2.5" internal diameter, and ends at 1.75"

 

Is this ok for GTi6?

Earlier 3 piece systems are typically narrower and more restrictive.

 

At 1.75" ID I would personally say that would be restrictive to a GTi-6 engine, in line with Miles's comments above.

 

The later 2-piece systems are typically a little over 2" ID (although it pays to check as not all are!)
