Daviewonder 533 3 Cars Posted April 24, 2014 Hello All I've seen recently that there is some interest in main dealer stickers, number plates, tax holders etc. There has even been some talk of reproducing some. I thought I'd start a thread so we can post any photos/info we have and keep it all in one place for easy reference. Feel free to add any that you have. Here are some of the main dealer items that I've collected up from the internet and off cars in the flesh over a short while.- I have another tax holder that I'll sort out when I can find it. mrfirepro 127 1 Cars Posted April 25, 2014 Great idea, if anyone comes across any Peter Durrant Limited, Reading Road South, Church Crookham, Aldershot, hants, GU13 0AA would be really interested in making copies.

kenneth205xld 13 5 Cars Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) Here are the main dealer rear window sticker, road tax holder and key ring from my 205 XLD which I purchased new from in May 1987. Not the best photo of the tax disc holder. The original rear number plate with dealer name. Edited April 25, 2014 by kenneth205xld
aldworth33 45 1 Cars Posted April 25, 2014 Mine was registered in Liverpool but not a clue which dealer, guessing I'd have to fork out the fiver to the DVLA to find this out? As I'd love some dealer decals and plates as my pts ones are getting a bit rough
mowflow 67 Posted April 25, 2014 Good idea. How do you go about finding out who the dealer was that first registered your car? I believe mine came from Dorset. I have all the original books and a list of dealers but nothing saying exactly who it was. Sadly all other evidence such as window stickers are long gone. aldworth33 45 1 Cars Posted April 25, 2014 I know you can get a form (v888 iirc) from DVLA to tell you which dealer, not sure if the info is available anywhere else
jackherer 543 Posted April 26, 2014 This is from my 1987 D plate GTI, I might have a number plate to match, I'll post a photo if I find it.
timoth123 37 1 Cars Posted April 27, 2014 It is form v888 to find out. I didn't know you could do that so thanks for posting that! Link below https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/206691/V888.pdf
scbond 15 1 Cars Posted April 27, 2014 Not sure why you'd get tax disc holders made up other than for sentimental reasons as tax discs are on their way out in October.
pyrrhic 14 2 Cars Posted April 28, 2014 First thing I do in all my cars is to remove all dealer markings. They aren't paying me to advertise their business, why should I?
Clarky3rdNut 13 Posted April 28, 2014 Think Oval still exits in Westbury. No longer in Bath.
Clarky3rdNut 13 Posted April 28, 2014 Pretty sure I also cropped that pic first
Nath88n 37 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) They aren't paying me to advertise their business, why should I? You could argue the same reason for Peugeot. It's for the 'period' look, also a bit of history as some dealers don't exist any more. Mine was from Hartwell who also ran a racing team and tuned Peugeots. They even did Mi16 conversions; Edited April 28, 2014 by Nath88n
Nath88n 37 Posted April 28, 2014 Think Oval still exits in Westbury. Indeed they do, not the best to deal with these days..

Daviewonder 533 3 Cars Posted April 28, 2014 I need to get me one of those!! Did tax discs ever have GTi written on them?
iPlod999 143 1 Cars Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) Got them from here. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/301148472659 Can even choose the name of the issuing Post Office. One set have the 205 GTI on and the other have just Peugeot. As it goes I think it should be just the manufacturer. I'll swap them over.
