Sorry - Clarion Wiring Question !

Just bought off ebay a clarion pu9317a radio cassette on the power side of things it has 4 wires

 

black - earth

blue ?

blue / white ?

red ?

 

Can anybody tell me the purpose of the latter 3 ....perm +12v, switchable +12v or illumination?

 

don't want to get something wrong and lock it out or damage it ...have you seen how much these are going for these days !!!!!!????

Hi Paul,



I've just taken a look at my wiring this should get you going:



black - Earth - should wire into M29B


red - 12v - this is for constant (Non-Switched) should wire into the Yellow loom wire numbered 10C.


Both the blue and the (blue/white) wires I have joined together they are for the switched supply and are connected to the Red loom wire numbered 29B.

No problem Paul -I meant to add I think the Blue and Blue/White can be joined together as I think that is intended as not only the switched power for the the radio on input, but I think one of them is also an output (switched by the radio of course) for an electric aerial - not needed.

 

Anyway this set up has worked perfectly for me.
