Replacing Temperature Gauges In The Clocks

Recommended Posts

SWINNEY

Hi All,

I have had a hunt round for answer to this but can't find anything, I have had an issue with a sticking temperature gauge for awhile now and need to resolve it so I purchased a set of replacement clocks and hoped to replace just the Oil and Coolant temperature parts of the clocks.

How easy is this to do as my pug is a low mileage and I don't want to swap over the clocks as my spare set has 125k on and my car has only done 71k.

Can anyone provide guidance on how to do this as I had a go today and it didn't come apart easily and I don't want to damage the clocks by forcing anything as its another item of weak plastic construction.

Mark

Are you trying to take the dials apart? If so its pretty easy but fiddly.

There a number of small screws and hex nuts which you need to unscrew. The dials themselves are also held in place with a sticky substance so once you are sure you have removed all the screws/nuts you would need to lever the dials apart. Patience is keen and once you put it all back together make sure there are no dirty finger prints or marks on the dials.

Pm me if you need any help.
