Update On My B Reg Pug

Recommended Posts

erbs

OK a bit of major update on this little 205

was having a poke round the cylinders this morning and cleaning out the debris round the cylinders when i noticed a hole that was

covered in scale and rust at the back of the block about the size of a 20 pence piece

so more poking with a screwdriver and it got bigger and bigger, its on the last cylinder next to the distributor at the back of the block so its scrap now

so on the look out for a good known replacement 1.6 engine and gearbox possibly if there is such a thing now

old engine coming out, also a good opportunity to clean the bay

i'm amazed it held water like it did but hey ho its only metal

Let me know when you ready your ready to sell, if the head gasket has been done etc etc then I would be willing to buy it at the right price

Can't you pull the liner out and get it welded from the inside? Be a real shame to bin it for a simple hole with a b reg vintage

Might just strip it down and have a look, thought it would be scrap coz of it

My one had very similar damage.

It looks like it has been run without any anti-freeze for a long time.

I found big chunks missing out of the liner seats when completely stripped.

Best of luck
