Top Mounts And Wishbones

hi

im a bit new 205gtis having been mainly in to escort mk2s for years.

my questions are

1 whats the best top mount to use on the group n challenge struts (will be use for tarmac rallying) really want fixed ones?

 

2 do all the 205gtis have the same front wishbone?

Not sure what the regs are, if you are sticking with the standard top mount arrangement you can buy a uprated rubber from BBM. Otherwise spherical bearing top mounts are widely available either eccentric or fixed.

Wishbones, all 205 GTI standard car wishbones are the same. For a serious rally car look at rose jointed wishbones from AB Motorsport.

thanks for that info, not really looking to build anything too serious don't have the budget. my mk2 escort cost me a lot of money but ive sold it to buy a house.

just going build a fairly basic 205 up for now.

Rally Design spherical bearing top mounts are about the cheapest. The bearings are rubbish but at the price they are you can replace them with proper ones from McGill Motorsport and sell the others on eBay and still be making on the deal.
