Those were brand new 1155's about 2 years ago, fitted them, did maybe 1 or 2 trackdays and circa 300 road miles. Parked it up for about 18 months while i was doing the house, and thats the result

Bastard file works well to reface pads. I'd use those!

Death, take a mm or two off and you are back to good friction material. At over £100 a set I would and have faced them off and used them again.

They are expensive enough that I like to get my moneys worth!! Took my red car to Cadwell once, put some worn 1155's in it, it managed the half day afternoon session, but on the way home had to make a pit stop in a layby and put some standard pads back in as the 1155's were down to nowt!

The pads in my 309 require 1mm machining off each pad face to fit them in! I breathe in all the pad dust so as not to waste any mind!

Al, I had to do that to the pads for the Alcon 4 pots on the MOP. Never fear though I didn't breathe any in as my tears whilst having to do it to brand new pads kept the dust down lovely.

As a teenager, I found it most amusing to see 'Bastard file' labelled on the tool board in the CDT class (what you proper old farts would have called Woodwork class) at school.

 

Of course now I'm grown up I don't find the name Bastard File at all amusing. Snigger...........bastard..........haaaaaa

I glazed a set of 1155's a few years ago and an extremely knowledgable chap called Alan (some of you may know who I mean) said you might recover them by filing them down a bit.

I'd be quite happy to file them down & bed them in again and see how they were. At worst, I'd throw them away if i didn't like the feel so I'd have lost nothing.

Interesting... I did consider re-facing them, but what about the surface cracks? is that normal then?

 

If so ill hang on to them and reface them, try them in the next track rat
