8200 is too high for hydraulic lifters. I'd stick to a safe 7400rpm.

From memory there were 2 redlines, 7200 & 7300rpm. I think it depended on whether it was a an XU9J4 or XU9J4/Z.

ARP bolts won't hurt, but they won't overcome the limits of the hydraulic followers.

It's 7200 on all Mi16s.

You sometimes see 7300 or 7400 quoted for some versions, but I've been looking at some ROM dumps and it's 7200 in all of them.

Always been a subject open to debate this one, My old Mi on std lifters lived at 8500rpm without any issues, Only thing that went wrong after a whole race season was a std rod bolt let go

You sure it "lived" at 8500?

I highly doubt it.

Otherwise everyone would be doing it!!

It was his race car, Miles might even tell you the whole story about reusing old bolts.

Threw a rod at thruxton in the last race of his season.

I e no doubt it was a race car for those sort of revs. My amazement is that ive never heard of an Mi16 revving to 8500 all day with hydraulic lifters!

Yep no problems at all, was a engine thrown together from the parts bin to get me out and for some reason worked allot better than expected so I kept it,
