I know of loads of 205s that are showing old liability dates but are tucked away safely so you never know...

I've always wondered how people can get away without sorning their car for over ten years, I know in 2000 sorning wasn't used and people buy old cars with no logbook etc but i know the odd one or two that have had a car for yonks in the back yard growing moss and registered in their name and never had a letter, reminder or carrier pigeon about it.

An example is a 205 I know of in a garage tucked away waiting to reappear that was never registered to its current owner, he got a V5 with it but never sent it off so it is either still registered to someone from about ten years ago or more likely it has no registered keeper.

My 205 has been off the road since 2002 and i'ts never been sorned and never had a letter about it (Hope they don't try and back tax me). I even insured it last year just so I could drive other cars third party, I got stopped one night in a mates car and gave the police my details, when they checked their database the 205 didn't even exsist. I had to take them to my garage to show them the car and the reg doc.
