Fuel Tank Modification

Recommended Posts

burr_2000

Lads need some advice, i currently use my 205 rallye for sprints and hillclimbs, use a standard base model tank, with a facet fuel pump to draw fuel to the swirl pot and a high pressure pump to the fuel rail. i was wanting to tidy this up, and use something similar to this http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=99184 and do away with the swirl pot. would the gti fuel pump be fine to supply my 3 bar fuel rail.

I've got a cut plastic tank, just like in the picture. In fact, that's probably one I sent to the UK. However, for E85 I need more capacity and it would be nice to distribute the weight a little better. So I'm going to exit the exhaust out the side, in front of the LH rear wheel and put a 30L alloy tank where the spare wheel goes. This keeps everything out of harms way and everyone is happy. Except maybe the noise meter.

ok i need to keep the tank where it is due to regulations, thats good news that a standard GTI pump will be fine. Next question is does anyone know who can carry out the operation of halving the fuel tank..

Alan Dixons 306 race car which has a thread either on here or on 306gti6.com had an alloy tank but retained the standard position and met regs.

Colin Satchell did it so could be worth looking through the build thread if you can find it.
