Any ideas? I know the bigger of the two goes into the rocker cover, but where does the little one go?

It was a carbon canister on the 306, just blank it off.

You can pull all that s*ite off and put a plate over the hole. The other things a throttle body heater from memory.

The pipe/vent/breather at the top just puts oily crappy air back into the inlet which is also unpleasant!

Allen, will the cold start/idle not suffer with removing that heater?

I'll happily blank it off, saves having to run a breather from it to the top of the rocker cover anyhow!

you'll need a catch-tank if you take that top breather pipe off, more faff than its worth I think, just leave a properly designed and shaped hose in place instead of some ill fitting hose off a reel and a tank cluttering up the engine bay :P

I've never noticed a difference removing the heater.

I'd also far sooner have a catch tank fitted. The trap in the cam cover and the gauze filter thing on the standard piping still seem to let a lot of s*itty oil vapour through which ends up coating the inside of the throttle body and inlet. I don't like having a catch tank but I'd sooner keep the inlet clean. Probably makes little difference in reality like most things....

Problem is, since ive gone back to standard inlet/management and battery under the bonnet i've got no where for my old catch tank (or indeed any catch tank!) to sit :(

No harm in it breathing a little oil vapour, just stinks :P
