Gti6 Phase 1/2 How To Tell The Difference

Hi all I have a gti6 engine that I am rebuilding and I am trying to get a water pump but there is two types guess one is for a phase 1 and the other for a phase 2???

 

When I got the engine I didn't no what year of car it came out of!!!

 

Can anybody tell me many thanks

All gti6 water pumps are the same, its the timing belt tensioners that changed mid phase 2.

Looking at the head casting will give you an idea of what year it would have been.

 

1201 A1 is the Peugeot part number for ALL XU10J4RS engines.
