Diy Cabriolet Rear Window Replacement?

Recommended Posts

analog_addict

The rear window on my 205 CJ is badly scored and has a small hole in it. There's only one place locally that replaces plastic windows and I was quoted £170 for the job which is a bit too pricey for me,

I can buy the correct material needed for the window pretty cheap (£30 and under) and I was wondering if it's possibly to replace the window myself? The window is too badly damaged for restoration using the Renevo stuff.

Has anyone ever accomplished a DIY window replacement successfully? My main concerns are getting the plastic tight enough so there are no bumps, being waterproof and having it hold over time.

Alternatively does anyone know anywhere near Newcastle that could replace my window for £100 or less? :D

If you can get the proper window material all you need is a sewing machine
