Great stuff .

Quick fix was needed on defective stalk.

For anyone with same problem ran wire 24 to a push switch then from second terminal on push switch back to earth ( metal shroud on steering column). Works great as a tempory fix.

Need to dig this one back up.

Just fitted a brand new stalk and removed the tempory fix.

Horn no longer works using new stalk assembly.

Any ideas. Anyone?

Tia.

Need to add it's just a nautilus horn with no compressor.

Works direct from the battery.

All earths cleaned / fuse checked.

All other stalk functions operate ok.

Check the relay.

you should hear it clicking if the stalk is working.

The stalks are quite unreliable these days - just because the lights work doesn't mean the horn will.

I think I've written this all before........

Thanks for the reply . Yes I think you have answered a similar thread of mine.

I'm still a bit confused as I have used the search function also and various threads contradict themselves.

1. Some posts say the 1.6 has no relay ( in the box by the suspension strut)

2.the stalk is newly supplied from peugeot.( you mentioned that this could be the problem).it would be extremely unlucky ( and unlikely) if this was defective?

3. My tempory fix using wire 24 and secondary earth connected to push switch operates the horn. That being the case surely the relay (if it does have one) and wiring from horn to stalk is in good working order.

Thanks.

You made sure the connector hasn't pushed through the plug? As mine did this when I swapped mine over.

Also check the earth as you said you ran a temp earth to the switch when you had it working
