How To Remove Carpet/ Lower Console...?

Recommended Posts

happypatrol

I currently have all my seats out the car getting redone. Whilst they're out I want to remove the carpet too. IT looks like I need to remove the centre console.

Does anyone know the quickest/ easiest way to get it out without removing too much. It seems to go under the console which I don't know how to remove...?

Thanks

There are two screws just in front of the handbrake which will let you remove the handbrake gaiter. Then underneath there's a bolt that holds the console in place. There are also two bolts under the radio which go down into the little cubby hole underneath.

Thanks.

Ive got the gear selector and hand brake cover off.

Will have a look tomorrow and see if i can get it out. Recently fitted an new radio and was a nightmare to get the wiring in the back nicely so that will need to come back out. haha.

Thanks anyway.

As said there is a screw under the gear lever gaiter and two little bolts that unscrew into the pocket below the radio. It should then lift and pull toward you. Bit fiddly but fairly easy to find :)

When you have it removed replaced the gearstick bushes, wee plastic type cups.
