Just got the CTi MOTd

nsf steering rack gaiter split

osr brake pipe kinked

osf tiebar/rod has excessive play in balljoint.

Can I buy the steering rack gaiter separately and if so is it a case of taking off the track rod end and sliding it on?

I got a brake pipe flaring kit for Christmas so looks like I can put that to use. Anyone know what size flare nuts I need?

Tiebar rod I assume is a simple case of breaking the ball joint then unbolting the old rod.

Cheers for any advice or tips.

You can get the gaiter separate. make up a new brake pipe (unless it's the flexi pipe)

There seems to be two different boots for the steering rack. Anyone know how I make sure I get the right one?

And I take it I need M10 x1 nuts for the brake pipe.

cheers

That's the one I was leaning towards.

There's a Febi kit on ebay for £7.

But also one with part number 406622

Bit more reasonable at that price.

Strangely I bought a PAS boot last week and it was only 9 quid.

Can you glue it, Allot of splits can be done this way and will hold for years

Looks easy enough to change but can't see the split at all?
