Sunroof Blanking

I am just about to start removing the sliding sunroof on my GTI for competition use. And I am going to blank it with a sheet of ally securing it with rivets. Are the runners secured with bolts from the inside of the car? and is there anything to watch out for when removing the sunroof. Thanks

The sunroof is all bolted from the outside of the car. Remove the plastic trim and then you will see the bolts, it's not too difficult to take off.
