Clutch Adjustment

Recommended Posts

roccorich

Ive done some searches and they all say undo the nocknut and then adjust the nut above it to adjust the clutch.

However if I turn the nut the cable just twists?

Also how should it be set.

Ive usually adjusted clutches so there is a small amount of freeplay in the lever so you know its disengaged.

This one I can pull the lever back a small amount then it springs back but cannot push the lever in at all.

There is a height specified in the haynes manual, about 200mm from the bulkhead springs to mind.

get some mole grips on the un-threaded section and free the nut off, I would wind a die down the threads to clean the corrosion off, you have cracked the 10mm locknut off and are turning the 13mm nut right?
