Sunroof Removal Or Repair?

hi everybody, I know there are a few sunroof forums already on here but at the moment im having difficulties with my vacuum sunroof on my xs constantly leaking and getting my interior soaked. I would prefer to keep the sunroof, but the last option is to remove it and put a steel or aluminium patch over the gap and seal it with silicone and rivet it in place.

does anyone know how I would go about repairing the leak properly or is it worth while just removing it and putting a patch over it.

Hi Matt,

 

I dont know how true it is (as I haven't got to this stage yet) but I hear that they leak because the sealing washers perish or the drains are blocked.
