Xt Or Xs? Why?

Recommended Posts

Right, been watching an XT on ebay, I remember in the old days that the xt had the lower spec dash without the big GTI style revcounters and mileometers. But this one has all that, I can't see a difference between the xt and the xs, any ideas?

Can't see any visible evidence of it being any different to my old XS apart from the wheels and seats?

Oh and the dials are standard.

Xt is 75 bhp iron block, xs is 85 bhp alloy block, sport ratio ma cluster on the tu3s too.

Not 100%, that might be the xr, cant remember which the uk rallye was before the sticker swap.

Still 75 bhp i think, as its not the tu3s.

I'm not quite sure how to say this, but I think welsh is wrong! What's going on!

Quick google reckons it's 85bhp so will be a TU3s.

When I was living in France in 1989 and 1992, the XT had a different spec dashboard similar to base models but with a rev counter, the looks were exactly the same, But in england the XT seems to be the same, I can't see any real difference if they had the same engine as well, then I can't see any real point, otheer than appealing to Toms instead of Sams???

Last I heard he was still having a custom loom made for it, I think he likes working on it more than driving it!
