Hi

I have a complete power steering setup up off what I think was a base model as the pulley on the pump is quite small and for a v belt, although I do have the correct engine bracket and tensioner.

If I can source the correct pulley for the pump can anyone re-assure me that the rest of the set up will be ok to fit to a gti.

Many thanks

If it is off a diesel - which would fit with it being a V-belt - then the pipes and mounting brackets, adjusters etc will be wrong too as the diesel has the pump mounted on the gearbox driven off the end of the camshaft, whereas GTi's (and other 8v XU's) have the pump on the front of the block driven off the crank pulley.

Thanks guys that's what I was afraid of. Am I right in thinking that the rack, splined bottom uj will be ok? I already have gti engine bracket and tensioner but I was hoping the pipes would be ok.

Thanks again

Yes the rack and UJ will be fine, providing that they're in good nick of course.
