Rent A Ramp ?

Recommended Posts

tcr

I've been offered a good sized storage / workshop unit including 2 ramps for a good price and I was thinking about renting one of the ramps out on a per hour basis to cover the cost of the rent but I was wondering how much of a market there is for such a thing ?

probably, but what are you going to do insurance wise? I thought about doing this at work but due to the risk factor I only offer it to friends and family.

The unit would be used primarily as a fully insured registered garage and the rent a ramp would be a way of bringing in a bit more revenue with the added bonus of having somewhere to store and work on my own cars

first port of call then is ask if its covered under your standard traders insurance. Then if not you will get an amount it will cost extra and go from there. You will want to be covered if a customer breaks your ramps. Not sure what the public liability cover wil be as standard so thats important to get in place.

As mentioned insurance is the key here, and you might struggle with none employees doing work in your garage.

As for the ramp its self, I would have a policy where you put the car on the ramp, and control it. The last thing you want is some numpty putting a car dangerously onto a ramp, and potentially injuring someone.
