Removing Left Lower Passenger Side Dash Panel To Get At Stereo?

Recommended Posts

ATK

Tried to pull out the existing Pioneer Stereo in my car, got it out a bit but it appears to be stuck on something, don't want to tug any harder in case I rip a load of wires out!

Understand you can access all the wiring etc and also push it out from passenger side dash.

Is it possible just to remove that one dash panel and if so any guidance?

Cheers

Alex

You can normally reach behind and under the lower center console to the rear underside of the stereo (skinny arms/hand help!).

It's probably just the wiring connectors have caught somewhere, especially if it still has the original wiring plug on the loom and hence an ISO adapter followed by the Pioneer specific wiring - that's a lot of wiring and connector blocks crammed into a small area with lots of bits for them to get snagged on.

I'm not sure that removing the passenger side of the dash will help much but I might be wrong.

You can't remove the lower center console (which would help) as two of the fixings are underneath the stereo.

What, reach round at the back of the footwell (basically under the dash) mate?

Yes.

You can slide your hand up from the carpet just near the vents also.
