Anyone Got A Pic Of The Original Oem Driving Lamp Brackets?

Recommended Posts

ATK

Fitted a set of Denji driving lamps (yeah I know they are poor compared to OEM but they look pretty good for now and certainly better than my old ones!) and I'm convinced the brackets I attached them to are non-original, as the Denji's are lower than the driving lamp holes and don't line up flush with the hole.

It'll bug me senseless so I wanted to see a pick of the original driving lamp brackets to confirm, so I can see if I can source some brackets to replace them.

Cheers!

Alex

The Denji brackets are different to the originals. The best option is to fit the Denji light units and surrounds etc to the original backing shells etc.

Aye, sounds right, but I need to see a pic of the original brackets to see if the ones already on my car when I bought it are the right OEM ones or not! :)

Sorry, not them, I meant the brackets that attach the lamps to the car.

Mine have strange brackets which come from the top and the light bolts onto them (top of lamp is bolted to bracket).

Should they be L-shaped brackets, attached to the body behind the bumper, and attach to the bottom of the driving lamp? Like this below (not my pic btw)?

It would be a lot easier if you do post a picture of your actual car/brackets up.

The bracket you've posted a photo of looks the same as mine (I use Siem's).

I can get you a pic of the bracket by itself when I get home later if you like?

Yeah sorry mate, I'm in work and the cars at home and this weather is shocking, will sort that out tomorow.

Thanks matey, are these the right brackets? If so, mine have some weird brackets on at the mo!

If the above are correct, where the hell can I buy them from as I've had no luck so far!

Make some, wanted post, or tom makes ss replacements,

those are the correct ones, however you can mount spot/fog lamps without, but they will wobble a bit.

This is what the original brackets look like, except where the hold is at the top they have a stud. (the studs rusted so I drilled them out).

Awesome, cheers all.

I'll order a set of SS replacements from Tom.

Jack the car up, Fasten them up to the panel behind the valance, screw the lights in to the bottom of the L and I'm all done, right?

This forum is ace. Will be donating this weekend.

Pretty much yes. Sometimes the brackets might need bending a little, depending on how the valance sits compared to the panel, but that's no big deal.

If you haven't already done so, it's a good opportunity to check the lower headlamp panels for rust while you're there as it's one of the more tin worm prone areas on the car.

Any idea what bolts I need to use to affix lights to original brackets?

Some Denji brackets are identical to the Siem ones, others are nothing like them.

Right, had a good look today! My Denjis have been pit on upside down with newer brackets from the top.

Original brackets are still present but ONE has the old lamp bolt rusted in, and I can't get it off! Argh!
