Torque Setting Camshafts?

Recommended Posts

mmt

I am rebuilding my Mi16 2.0 top end.

What torque setting should I use when I refit the camshaft retainers (the bridge like things that sits across the head and hold the camshafts in place)(do not know the correct word. Sorry).

Thanks

Martin

The cam caps torque down to 10 Nm (7 ft lbs). There is a sequence to them as well which is in the Haynes 405 manual. If you don't have them I'll upload a pic.

Thanks. I do not have the Haynes. A picture would be perfect.

Cheers.

Be very careful as it's easy to strip the threads in the alloy. Unless you've got a small and accurate torque wrench you are better off nipping them down by hand.
