Valve Oil Seals

My old old and hard valve stem Oil seals need to be changed to some new ones.

 

Taking them of requires a pair of pliers and some patience I guess.

 

How do I refit new ones? Do I need special tools or special super skils?

I use a 7mm drill blank which fits inside a mandrel made from 19mm steel rod. The drill blank locates in the valve guide to hold the seal square, then a light tap with a hammer on the end of the mandrel seats the seal.

I bought a valve seal installer tool set from ebay for AUD$23. Came with a pair of useless as sh*t seal removal pliers. But the installer drift with several size adaptors has been useful.
