Bilstein B4S - Built In Bumpstops?

Recommended Posts

Doof

I've done some searching on here to see if Bilstein front shocks have built in bump stops. I found a post that suggested they might.

I'm fitting some B4's to my 306 Gti-6 with -25mm Eibachs and I'm wondering If I need the bumpstops. It looks to me like there would be next to no travel with the bump stops so I'm inclined to cut them down or get rid of them completely.

Anyone know if it's ok to run without?

Edit, Found a post saying that yellow billies definitely have in built bump stops. Not sure about black B4's though. Im thinking maybe I could just chop them in half.

B4's dont and you shouldnt cut the stops as they are not shortened dampers.

Just looks like there wont be any travel once it's loaded up. Suppose that's the slightly shorter springs, though obviously being a bit stiffer it won't move quite so much. Annoyingly I already hacked a bit off before thinking about checking with people on here, only 15mm or so which shouldn't matter too much I hope.

Only mono tube dampers have internal bump stops.

Ended up putting it all together with both full bumpstops. Better than knackering new shocks. Thanks for the replies guys.

Out of interest, which ones did you get? I've recently ordered Xsara ones for my 306 as I was under the impression these were a touch stiffer. How low is it?

These are the Xsara ones;

19-068145 x 2

22-045676

22-045669

Got them for £170 all in, but delivery seems to be taking a while!
