Anyone Use Megajolt Or Nodiz?

Recommended Posts

Basher

Want to use management on my vtr engine on 40s to get the best out of it, anyone have recommendations? I'm leaning towards nodiz so I can use the flywheel sensor and not have to run a separate tupiming ring and sensor with an edis unit, but there seems to be less places that can tune it

Why not go for a recognised brand like omex?

Price really, both systems are around the 300 mark while omex is more, megajolt is recognised and widely used but lacks some features, nodiz is new but with a lot of features that would be good,

I did a Megajolt conversion on my MI16 with 45's, and whilst the hardware and software is brilliant and it ran great, getting someone to map it turned into a real nightmare :(

For that reason alone i probably wouldnt go for a lesser known system again, despite me having great fun building it, learning the setup and such :)

As said unless you can map yourself then forget it, Not many mappers want to know about it as it can take allot of time sorting out issues, Even mine only does a few install's of ECU's from other people because of the issues that can arise.

Right il have a think, omex might be the way forward then, sure I could map it myself with a bit of playing around, il ask what the nearest mapping place says

The reason mappers steer clear of them is generally they regard the system as the kind of thing that gets bodged together, so understandably they see potential headache in sorting a MJ equipped car out.

Thing is, its easy to get it right, mine was great, and with a bit of advise and the 'bum dyno' i got it to work beautifully.

Like anything, you pays your money, you takes your choice. If you want a project to enjoy converting, building, making the loom etc then go for it, if you're looking for a cheap solution to get the car running then forget it...

Carr runs but the dizzy is a compromise, don't have an issue with learning myself, I work with instrumentation so sure I can have a go at it, between nodiz or omex I think then, need t see what funds are left come pay day

It gets slated a lot on here but I have had Megajolt on my carbed mi and gti6 engines, been mapped twice with the different engines, and haven't had any issues. The person who mapped it had never heard of if before, but commented on how easy to use/map it was.

With anything like this its all about taking time, getting it right, and it should be reliable.
