Fitting Vts Arb To 309 Gti Beam

Recommended Posts

I'm suing the 309 front arb on my 205 project build and would like to use the xsara vts rear arb in my 309 beam. Can I just cut it to length and weld on 1 cover plate?

I've searched but can't find anything on this.

You can do it that way, although I'm not personally a fan of it as they tend to break at the weld and you have to get it spot-on angle wise.

They only break if not welded properly. Peugeot themselves fitted the 206 with a rear anti roll bar with one of the end plates welded on, if it's good enough for an OE manufacturer it's good enough for me.

The best way to do it is to bore the endplate out in the lathe to size so the bar sleeves thru. Then you can cut the bar set it up in vee blocks and weld it in two positions.
