Central Locking Only Goes One Way?

Hi all,

 

My central locking only wants to open. when i switch the wires from the central locking motor in the passengerdoor (+to- and -to+) then it will only close.

Does anyone know where to find the problem?

 

I have a ph1 GTI with the central locking module in the drivers door.

 

How does the central locking module send a signal to the lock in the boot?
