Converting To Double Wishbones On Front ( I Need Some Guidance)

Recommended Posts

hcmini1989

Right iv had an idea as above really .Seems to me to be fairly simple to with minimum fabrication needed to the shell. But i need some help from the suspension gurus .So heres my questions.

Is it worth it ?.Its going to be fast road and track use.

Would it be better if both top and bottom were the same length?

Would it matter if the wishbones were in line with each other I.E the top wish bone was set back further (towards the rear of the car)

Were should i mount the shock absorber I.E top wishbone .bottom wishbone , hub.

Should i try and put the shock absorber on an angle or does it make no difference?.

Cheers for any help

Is it possible to use parts of the 407 front double wishbone setup possibly? Or maybe it's a bit too large overall.

its not worth it, have a look at how well colin satchell's chassis handle, they all retain a mcpherson strut, albeit with revised pivot points angles etc.

The amount of development required would be insane. You're better off turreting the rear.

By the questions your asking I would leave it all alone
