Couple Of Questions

Recommended Posts

EarthMummy

Hey there :)
Picked up my third 205 yesterday and I have big big plans..

I do have a couple of questions though, hope you can help!

1) Exterior trim:

My 205 is a 'style' so it has yellow strips in the black trim around the car. Are these trims easily removable? What do you call the strips? I am in two minds whether to just replace them or just remove and matt them up to blend in a bit..

2) Heater noise:

The heater is quite loud, it's like a rattly sound.. I understand from a friend that something behind the heater has dried up and causes the sound, is this a common problem and how would I go about greasing what ever it is back up?

3) Power steering:

Has anyone fitted power steering into a car that came without it? My first car (205 1.8 DT 'J' reg didn't have power steering, but I don't remember it being THIS heavy.....)

4) Engine:

Can anyone recommend a 'little hassle' engine transplant for the car? Currently it's a 1.8 Diesel (non turbo). I want at least a turbo whacked in but I understand that perhaps this isn't possible on the exsisting engine for the combustion / compression rates, won't be runing high enough to power a turbo charger.

Any help most appreciated. I am a HUGE fan of Peugeot full stop and the 205. I still deeply regret selling my second 205, I have cried many tears over that car. I've only ever owned Peugeots and I have the lion tattooed on my right wrist I am THAT dedicated! :P

Looking forward to making progress with this 205, I have many many plans for her!

My current drive is a 406 estate (2.0 16v petty) and she's done Pugfest hill last year (not too far behind the re-mapped HDi's either), FCS, even went up on the Lazza tyre photo stand, also a local motor show! Completely standard bar the limo tinted rear end and fly tinted rear lights..

Thanks guys and girls :D

Number 2 (insert childish snigger) have a look through the articles on the main site, you can refurb your heater motor quite easily :)
