Colour Rarity - Howmanyleft/general Info

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm sure i saw a thread at some point talking about the colours and their numbers but cant find it now :(

As a split, how many GTI's were produced in the various colours?

How many are left more to the point?

I've got no idea how many are left colour wise but I guess the rarest colour (except that apparent yellow one) for the gti is probably topaz blue followed then by steel grey, laser green, Sorrento green, Miami blue, silver then around equal red, black, graphite grey and white although I'm sure I'll be corrected!

If eBay is anything to go buy then Miami Blue was actually called 'Limited Edition Miami Blue' as that is what everyone seems to sell theirs as.

It was a very popular colour that Limited Edition!

Reason i ask is ive just dropped on a rough one with good trim that i intended to break to rebuild my track car, starting to wonder if its worth restoring the silver one with my mechanicals from the track car and building a 'cheap' track car from the left over bits and the red shell to sell on...

I recently sent my V5 to the DVLA to get the colour changed so there is one more in silver than there was about a month ago.

Oh its rough Mei. Imagine the chaviest, tackiest 'free' mods you could do to a car.... Then remove the skill level, and cheapen it some more.

Its being dropped off at mine in an hour or so, ill get some pics up then.. :)

Will do when i can bring myself to look at it! But lets just say mine seems to have had impacts on both sides in it's life - not good. I can do an engine conversion but i have no bodywork skills whatsoever.
