Original Engine Pics 1.9

Recommended Posts

Me neither until I saw it on ebay recently. I don't know which agency Peugeot were using back then but they seem to have been consistently good, unlike whoever they use these days.

Too true. I have been collecting the available ones in poster form to put up in my garage, hopefully someone reproduces that one.

I had a feeling you'd know Miles

Daviewonder: This is the listing I saw - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380816571728 - It's an original rather than a print but I guess that is what someone would need to reproduce it and that's the only time I've ever seen it.

Sort of related question here. Some beams are yellow but replacements from Peugeot are black. Was it a case of GTi's had yellow ones and bog standard cars got black or was there a change over year?

Not sure about GTI's but my 86 205 Automatic has a yellow beam but my 96 205 Diesel has a black beam.

Origen those pics have just made my life so much easier when I come to fit the injection back in mine, at least I know what I'm missing :)

Thanks. I treated myself to that one and the "wolf in wolfs clothing" last week. Going to look into getting a printing place to reproduce them so I can put them up in the garage.

Nice, I hadn't seen those either. I have around four framed in my office. I love the old advertising, makes the car seem even more retro.

I got some Peugeot brochures at home, I can scan them later. That might be your best source.

Sorry, went through my brochures and not a single good picture of the engine! These things are rare!

That's a great pic, do you have it in higher resolution by any chance?

No, just that. I also found this one on a French site. It's a 1.6 engine, however.

Thanks anyway.

They're both phase 1 engines BTW.

Yes, I wasn't sure about the first one, but the orange blinkers give it away.

Nice, proper early engines, metal SAD pipe and no cam cover breather.

Just a quick one do cherry red have black slam panels from factory or where they beige like other models?.

My Cherry red gti back in the 90s had the beigey colour slam panel with original stickers on it, which I believe was original.
