Mi 16Running Too R Ich

Recommended Posts

Hi as above my 1905mi16 seams to be running a little bit rich looking at tail pipe can I lean the mixture a little bit via adjustment at the a.f.m if so would that be by adjusting the large screw. To make mixture leaner would I have to turn clockwise or anti clockwise thanks

The adjustment screw only really affects idle mixture - running mixture is not strictly user adjustable, although it can be done by opening the AFM and adjusting the spring tension on the metering flap. I would personally avoid doing this "blind" though.

Yes point taken. Car has recently passed emissions test at mot so is within limits but also idles when at temp at about 1200 rpm this needs to drop a bit as we'll to about 1000 thanks peter

High idle speed is potentially a knackered throttle body - should be around 800-900rpm and regulated by the ICV.

(you are running Mi16 management aren't you and not a lash up with 8v Jetronic and a dizzy?)
