Not sure which video you mean - the link brought up a whole page of them. I clicked on one randomly and it was a girl doing something to a bottle of Pepsi that her doctor would probably advise against - I'm guessing not that one?!

Nothing special.. renewing the lettering on the badge.

Just to stick my oar in here; this is no ordinary vinyl decal in this video. I believe the original badges were made with a heat pressing process, where a film is passed over the blank badge, and a heated GTI stamp is pressed against it. This is why the originals have both raised and embossed sections. It's quite likely that the red layer comes on a carrier film, which is what can be seen in the video.

 

This is mostly guesswork though. You can't really make out all that much with the quality of the video clip.
