Urgent Ma Issues

Ok the car is a 1993 205 gtx, last year I fitted a black top vtr tu5 engine and box into the 205. 7 months on and the box has had it so went to the local breakers and for £100 they had a low mileage box from an x reg vtr, bishbash bosh gearbox swapped over up until putting the shafts back in.

It seems the 205 shafts are too long at the spline end so don't sit correctly in the gearbox seals and with them in I ran the car just to try it, the whole engine rocks from side to side as the diff rotates .

 

So first,anyone ever swapped the cups over on ma shafts as I'm sure you cant without wrecking them.

second, is there a difference in vtr boxes? the last one was out of a 98 saxo vtr and has been fine with the 205 driveshafts

Third, If I cant swap the cups is there a set of shafts that will work?

 

Any help much appreciated as I now have to go back to work tomorrow and swap it back so the ramp is clear Monday, really p*ssed off with myself about this

 

Just to add I cant find the bloody code on the gearbox either
